It seems like a long time since we have shot at Hilltop, this Saturday 7th September we start back again, the following weekend 14th &15th we are hosting a 2 day IPSC competition at Hilltop and the following Saturday 21st September we are back to Hilltop for our normal Club competition. It sounds like an exhausting month.
We hosted a successful two day IPSC comp at Hilltop before Covid, on Friday 13th September we need to set up twelve stages for shooters to shoot on the Saturday and Sunday, any help or time you can give on the Friday to help set up would be greatly appreciated.
This Saturday shooting starts at 10am sharp, try to arrive by 9.30am to fill in all the paperwork and pay your Range fee. If you have no idea of where your Rifle is shooting let me know at the start of the practice so we can help you zero your rifle without damaging the electronic targets.
Members can arrive at Hilltop from 9.30am, helpers to set up the Electronic Targets can arrive at 9am, shooting starts at 10am sharp.
We are shooting on the Rifle Range from 10am to 1pm , 1pm- 1.30pm is pack up time of our Electronic Targets and move to the Pistol Range
If you are coming this Saturday let me know by lunch time THURSDAY not on FRIDAY as we need to inform Hilltop management of our attendance numbers and determine how many target frames we need for the members that are attending.
After everyone has finished shooting the Rifle competition we will be running a comp on the Metal gongs at 500m so bring a little extra ammo and we will help you sight your rifle in at 500m on the large Metal plate, should be a lot of fun
Metal Plate competition Bipods allowed:
Zeroing to get onto the large plate
Two rounds on each of the four variable sized plates, starting with the larger plate , a miss on the second shot you are out of the comp, a hit on the second shot you move to the next smaller plate.
For the 500m metal plate comp you can use a bipod and or tripod.
The Navy Club shooting cost for members at Hilltop have increase slightly , Hilltop have increase their fees, they are still cheaper than other shooting Ranges ,the membership is asked to contribute and bring an envelope with $20 for Pensioners and $25 for the general membership give this to the Secretary or Treasurer, remember to put your name on the envelope. This covers you for a full day of shooting on both the Rifle and Pistol Range.
